Kamnaskires IV.
Kamnaskires IV. Was a king of the Elymais who lived around 62/61 or 59/58 and 56/55 BC. Ruled. He is known by name only from his coins, which bear pseudo-Greek legends. They are drachms and tetradrachms that show a ruler in Greek style. There is a picture of Zeus on the back .
In 65 BC A king of the Elymais sent gifts to the Roman general Pompeius (Plutarch, Pompeius 36). For chronological reasons, this king may have been Kamnaskire IV, who was obviously looking for support against the Parthians . This points to the Elymais striving for independence.
