Coin of Kamnaskires V.

Kamnaskires V was a king of the Elymais , known only from his coins. The order and identity of the rulers of the Elymais caused great difficulties, as was the case with this ruler.

On the obverse of his coins his portrait appears in Parthian style, on the reverse a bust and pseudo-Greek legends appear. Some coins are from the year 36/35 BC. The reading of the year is uncertain and was also read 58/59 AD. With the first date there is the possibility that Kamnaskires IV. , Whose last dated coinage was the year 56/55 BC. And Kamnaskires V. are the same person.
