Campanian dialects

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the past, the dialects of the Italian region Campania were often equated with that of the regional capital Naples, the Neapolitan . The thesis that the Neapolitan urban dialect differs only marginally from the dialects widespread in the rural areas of Campania is now considered to be refuted. The diversity of the Campanian dialects has only partly been systematically researched by linguists.
