Jug maker (profession)

For centuries in the Middle Ages, jug maker was a professional designation for people who used metal casting, in particular as a pewter , to manufacture objects for everyday use, in particular jugs, jugs and bottles. From this profession the flaschner developed and from this the profession of plumber .

In Jost Amman's book of status from 1568, the activity of the jug maker is described as follows:

Other names

Other designations were candelabras , for example in the Bolzano city charter of 1437 as "Kanndlgiesser" , or edge casting .
