Karl Drewke

Karl Drewke (born April 27, 1895 in Bromberg ; † October 3, 1960 in Soltau ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Drewke attended primary school in Hanover and began an apprenticeship as a machine fitter after graduation.

He became a member of the SPD in 1909. Between 1914 and 1918 Drewke participated in the First World War . In 1919 he passed the exam as a trainee train driver, but later changed his profession and founded a fruit, vegetable and delicatessen shop in Soltau . After the seizure of power in 1933, he was placed under police supervision for about nine months. He was also briefly imprisoned in 1944.

Drewke was a member of the appointed Hanover State Parliament from August 23, 1946 to October 29, 1946.
