Body bus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The body bus or K-bus is a communication bus and belongs to the field buses , it is used where the use of expensive bus systems is prohibited. A widespread area of application is diagnostic communication in motor vehicles.

The K-Bus uses ISO-9141 on the bit transmission layer. It is a simple serial UART communication that can be used for data rates up to a maximum of 20 kbit / s.

The K-bus is a proprietary solution that is increasingly being replaced by the LIN bus .
