Karuna Trust

The Karuna Trust is a 1987 of Hannumappa Reddy Sudarshan founded and by the friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FWBO) led non-governmental organization in India ; she works closely with her partner organization Karuna Germany .

aims

The aim of the Karuna Trust is to promote dignity and self-confidence and to overcome the barriers between castes and religions. The trust finances projects such as slum kindergartens, hospital wards or adult education, thereby improving the living conditions of thousands of people.

The Karuna Trust is supported by Ashoka , the “international non-profit organization for the promotion of social entrepreneurs ”.

Karuna Germany

Karuna Germany eV is a non-profit association based in Essen , with the aim of improving the living conditions of structurally and socially particularly disadvantaged population groups in India and Nepal . It was founded in 2007 by supporters and members of the Tritatna Buddhist Community in Essen.

Projects

In cooperation with local project partners, Karuna Germany supports the following projects:

  • End violence against women! The Maitri network
  • Voice of Women - Access to Justice and Justice
  • Safe births for young mothers and babies in southern Nepal
  • Strong girls in Nepal - educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in the Terai
  • Vulnerable girls live safely - BH Amravati
  • Self Defense and Self Awareness - Prabodhini Self Defense Project
  • Decent Work for Women - Women Social Project
  • School for Tibetan refugee children in Kalimpong
  • Yashodhara school dormitory for nomad children

The association works closely with its partner organization Karuna Trust as well as with other organizations.
