Karzakan ( Arabic كرزكان, DMG Karzakān ) is a dynamically growing city in Bahrain . It is located on the west coast of the main island of Bahrain and is connected to the capital via a well-developed network of trunk roads. Modern settlements were built on the desert floor around the historic town center. The agricultural areas are close to the coast, mainly date plantations. In order to counteract the high evaporation, foil greenhouses were purchased for growing vegetables.

The Islamic scholar Salih al-Karzakani, born in the 17th century, comes from the place . Karzakan is mainly inhabited by Shiites . On February 14, 2011, opponents of the government clashed with the police in Karzakan.

The city's sights include the marina and the spacious city park. The fishing port next to it has been out of service for decades. There are also several privately owned luxury villas on the beach. However, they pale in comparison to the palace complex of ar-Rifā , which is inhabited by the ruling family , which is three kilometers east of the city center.
