Johann Christoph Kees (* 1786 in Gelnhausen , † in Graz ) was Großmagazineur and forwarding agent, builder and real estate owners in Graz.

Life

Johann Christoph Kees came from Gelnhausen via Vienna to Graz, where he finally settled. In Vienna he married Emilie Brüxner in 1816 and had four children with her: Marie, married Börner, Emilie, married Lenk, Sophie, married Reyer and Adolph Kees. As the owner of buildings in Graz such as the so-called Palais Kees am Glacis and numerous apartment buildings on the Kleiner Glacis, today Radetzkystraße, Keesgasse, Wielandgasse and Nelkengasse (... first early Wilhelminian building block in front of the Neutor ...) he played in the development of the Wilhelminian-style district an important pioneering role in Graz. The Keesgasse reminds of him.
