Katzendarm parcel, January 2011. The way to Beyendorf ran along the row of trees. The piece between Welsleber Straße and the beginning of the row of trees is now a field.

The cat's intestine is an agricultural area of the Feldmark west of the Westerhüsen district, which today belongs to the city of Magdeburg .

The area is located east of the Sohlener Berge south of the route that used to lead from Beyendorf to Westerhüsen. However, the path is only partially preserved. The western part leading to Welsleber Strasse was plowed over. To the south and west of the cat's intestine is the field between the Sohlenschen and Beyendorfer Weg , although there is no longer a clear spatial demarcation to this, through a further field path that originally existed here.

The area historically belonged to the district of Westerhüsen. Today, however, the area is assigned to the Salbke district .

The unusual field name is interpreted in such a way that the term cat can be seen in the sense of inferior, which could indicate poorer soil quality. The term intestine is likely to go back to the shape of the area or the fields originally laid out on it.
