Lists on the subject

The Kawali , also Badi Goeroe or Badi Guru , is a knife from Indonesia .

description

The kawali has a single-edged, bulbous or straight blade. There are two versions:

  • The blade becomes wider from the handle to the location and becomes bulbous near the location area. The back of the blade is slightly convex . The place is pointy. The handle is made of wood and is bent sharply towards the cutting edge directly after the metal grip clamp . The pommel is thickened and worked in the shape of a hoof at the end.
  • The blade is wedge-shaped, narrow and becomes even narrower from the handle to the location. The handle is made of wood or horn and bends slightly towards the cutting edge near the handle clamp. The pommel is rounded.

The sheaths are made of wood and are in two parts. There are two different versions. One version is worked on the vagina mouth overhanging to the cutting edge, the other version is smooth and round on the vagina mouth. The kawali is used by ethnic groups in Indonesia.
