A ferrule , also grip ferrule called, is a metallic band, which at the stapling or Grifffuß a blade weapon is mounted between handle and the blade.

description

In bladed weapons, it serves to strengthen the connection between the handle and the blade and make it more secure. In many weapons, it also serves as a guard or to protect the hilt or the stock from damage. There are different versions that differ in material, length, width and decoration. The simple designs are simply made of smooth iron , brass or copper . Precious versions are made of precious metals such as silver or gold and are often set with precious stones .
