The Celtic Pig ( Galician Porco celta ) is a breed of pig native to northwestern Spain .

history

The Celtic pig was bred by Celtic tribes who settled in what is now Galicia . Although they were relatively common by the early 20th century, Celtic pigs had almost disappeared by the 1980s. The breed is recovering and there are now over 2500 purebred sows.

  • Ears large and hanging forward
  • Fully grown approx. 81 cm shoulder height
