Kenta Nishimura ( Japanese 西村 賢 太 , Nishimura Kenta ; born July 12, 1967 ) is a Japanese writer.

Nishimura got to know the works of the writer Fujisawa Seizō at the age of 23 . Collecting works and memorabilia from Fujisawa motivated him to create his own literary works. For his debut novel Ankyo no yado ( 暗渠 の 宿 ) he received the 2007 Noma literary prize for new authors. In 2010 he received the Akutagawa Prize for Kueki ressha ( 苦役 列車 ) . He has also been nominated for the Kawabata Yasunari Literature Prize. Nishimura is, shaped by the example of Fujisawa, a representative of the genre of the first-person novel (Shishōsetsu, I-Novel).
