Kenwood Limited is a manufacturer of small kitchen appliances for private use. Kenwood became famous for the first kitchen machine concept, which is now the company's main sales.
history
Kenneth Wood founded the Kenwood Manufacturing Company in the English county of Surrey in 1947. The first products were a toaster and blender , which sold very well. The great success came three years later when Wood developed a novel kitchen machine system. The new machine was named "Kenwood Chef" and was sold with numerous accessories and attachments. Soon there was a great success. With steady growth the company expanded and in 1962 the location moved to Havant near Portsmouth in the south of England. In 1974 Kenwood was the first manufacturer of food processors whose speed could be controlled. Kenwood acquired the UK company Waymaster , a specialist in water filters and scales, in 1993 and the Italian electrical appliance company Ariete in 1994. As one of the first companies, Kenwood started producing in Asia in 1994 and invested in a production site there. The company was taken over in 2001 by smaller competitor De'Longhi .
Today Kenwood kitchen machines are among the best-selling in the world, especially in the high-priced segment. Today Kenwood calls itself a modern and dynamic company and is proud of its old British origins.
Kenwood's products have received awards for their design from the Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia , among others .
Kenwood is now represented in over 100 countries and is one of the leading European brands for small electrical appliances.

Food processors
The company's current flagship is the Kenwood Cooking Chef with an induction-heated mixing bowl. It operates attachments with three different external drives in the speeds slow, medium-fast and fast. The duration of the stirring can be preset with a timer, the temperature of the induction plate can be controlled to an accuracy of 5 degrees Celsius .
The kMix series is aimed at design-oriented customers and combines function and design.
The Kenwood Chef series includes the Chef Titanium , Chef Premier , Chef Titanium Event and Chef Titanium Timer . The major food processors include the Major Titanium , Major Titanium Event and Major Titanium Timer . The boss and the major differ only in a few details, including the timer and the accessories supplied.
The Prospero kitchen machine is aimed specifically at consumers with a small budget or little space, but can offer almost all the functions of the large machines and is supplied with a large set of accessories.
Compact kitchen machines
Kenwood produces a range of compact kitchen machines consisting of Multipro Compact , Multipro Excel and Multipro . They are used almost exclusively for chopping up food with various cutting discs and wing knife inserts. The models differ mainly in size and price.
Small kitchen appliances
Kenwood sells a wide range of small kitchen appliances. The range includes toasters, the triblade hand blender, kettle, blender, bread maker, deep fryer, rice cooker, coffee maker and chopper.
