Boilers

In the hunting sense, a kettle drift refers to a hunt for hares in the field, in which foxes and game birds are also killed.

execution

Shooters and drivers run alternately from a starting point to the left and right, encircling an area around 1000 meters in diameter in a circle. When the cauldron is closed, the chase signal is given to blow the drive , whereupon the shooter and the driver advance evenly towards the center. Escape game may only be shot at with shot until the circle of hunting participants has reduced to a diameter of about 400 m, which is indicated by the hunting signal driver into the boiler . When the signal sounds, it is forbidden to continue shooting into the boiler. The shooters stop and turn outwards, the beaters advance further into the bowl to the middle, and thus drive the game out. The shooters can then kill it as soon as it leaves the cauldron. Since they are only allowed to shoot outwards, safety is guaranteed. Like most company hunts, the kettle drift is ended in peace with the rooster horn signal .

Figurative meaning
