Ulrich Eissner

Ulrich Eißner (born September 10, 1962 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a copywriter, pianist, prop master, theater sculptor and academic sculptor, lives in Dresden and is there professor at the University of Fine Arts (HfBK).

After his school days in Karl-Marx-Stadt, he graduated from high school and did basic military service in 1981. From 1983 to 1984 he was a prop master at the Schauspielhaus Karl-Marx-Stadt . From 1984 to 1986 Eißner worked at the plastic department of the Dresden State Opera and during this time completed evening studies in plastic at the Dresden University of Fine Arts with T. Franz and A. Thunig. From 1986 to 1989 this was followed by a degree in theater sculpture at the HfBK Dresden with J. Waldöstl and L. Beck.

From 1986 to 1989 Eißner worked as a lyricist and pianist for the Dresden cabaret Die Pfefferlinge . From 1989 to 1996 he worked as a sculptor at the Chemnitz City Theater . Since 1990 he has been a member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists, and since 1996 also an artistic assistant at the HfBK Dresden.

With Arnd Stephan , he founded the cabaret Duale Satire Deutschland in 1997 (a name parody of the DSD ). Since 2005 he has held the chair for theater sculpture at the HfBK Dresden.

His work can be found in Chemnitz , Cottbus , Dresden , Glauchau , Oschatz , Olbernhau , Rochlitz , Rodewisch , Sebnitz and Zschopau . Further works, works made from Bohemian sandstone at symposia, are permanently installed in the western and northern Bohemian towns of Vintířov , Kadaň and Vejprty .

  • 2000 2nd prize at the International Wood Sculptor Symposium in Vogtland
