Kevin Sutherland (born July 4, 1964 in Sacramento , California ) is an American professional golfer .
After attending Fresno State University , he became a professional golfer in 1987. Sutherland has been playing the PGA Tour since 1996 and in 2002 he had his only victory in this tournament series, albeit at a very important event. Seeded as number 62 (out of 64 participants), he won the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship , making it the worst-seeded winner in the history of this highly paid tournament.
On August 16, 2014, Sutherland managed a round of 59 in the second round of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open - the first ever registered on the Champions Tour . On the par 72 course this meant a daily result of 13 under par.
Sutherland is married to his wife Mary, they have a son (* 2000) and live in Sutherland's hometown Sacramento .
