Key (band)

Key was a band in the GDR that made electronic music . It was founded in 1984 and existed until around 1990. The two band members were Frank Fehse and Andreas Fregin.

YAMAHA 'DX' devices , among others, were used to generate the sound . From musically classic titles to stylistically modern poppy titles emerged. There were several publications, especially on television and radio in the GDR. The album of the same name, Key , was released in 1989 on the Amiga record label , which contained an excerpt from their previously published works.

The titles contained there are: Mikado , Breakout , Con Amore , Abaca , Galaxy , Crockett's Theme (cover version), Solaris , No connection , Sunday , Risibisi , Sago , Axel F (cover version). The best-known titles not published on the LP include Traumschiff ins Weltall and twelve thousand meters alone on the seabed , which, above all, had a "spacey" effect due to their harmonious composition and their singing using vocoders and harmonizers .
