Crockett's Theme

Crockett's Theme is an instrumental by keyboardist Jan Hammer from 1987 and comes from the soundtrack for the crime series Miami Vice .

In the USA it was not a success; in the UK it reached number two in the UK Top 40 .

The first version of the instrumental was heard in the episode "Calderone Returns Part One" by Miami Vice, which first aired in the US on October 19, 1984.

Crockett's Theme is a typical instrumental new wave hit of the 1970s and 1980s. It was often used by ARD in the mid-1980s as background music for the program boards.

The instrumental can also be heard in the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on the fictional radio station "Emotion 98.3".

It was covered by Till Brönner , Ed Starink , Key , The Shadows , James Last and Thomas Lizzara , among others . 2006 was released by Jan Hammer feat. Terrance Quaites a single version.
