Children's Bible Week

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A children's Bible week (also known as Children's Bible Day (s) ), in short: KiBiWo (KiBiTa), is a period of time in which especially children deal with the Bible . Christian church congregations and Christian youth associations introduce children to a specific topic or story from the Bible in a playful way and discuss and shape Christian topics.

It is essential with every KiBiWo that the children get to know this old and strange world of biblical stories as well as the life context of the "main characters". And the children should learn that people's experiences with one another and with God can also be relevant for their lives.

The Children's Bible Week is an offer for children from around 6 to 12 years of age. Children and employees spend two to five afternoons - or mornings - with a program of Bible reading, songs, games, theater, handicrafts and celebrations. Children get to know the community from its happy, festive, welcoming side.

Children's Bible weekend

In many congregations, the "Children's Bible Weekend" has established itself as part of child labor, which is usually carried out once a year. The implementation is possible on site as well as on the way as part of a trip.

Employee

In many communities where KiBiWos (both weeks and weekends) are carried out, the integration of former participants as helpers or supervisors has established itself. In this way, young people who have been participating in the children's and youth program in the community since their childhood can ultimately actively help shape it and also provide the children with "youthful advice" and incorporate their own experiences from the KiBiWos of their childhood.
