history

A pastoral care center was opened in the Wels district of Laahen as early as 1997. Due to the lack of space, the need for a new church grew, which is why an architecture competition was launched. The architects Max Luger and Franz Maul from Wels won the competition. In 2004 the new church was finally opened.

The interiors of the church itself are red. From the outside it is black and partially surrounded by water. The "Altar Cross" is a branch from the Italian city of Assisi .

The energetic design of the church is an official model project in the state of Upper Austria as a passive house church. Due to its energetic concept, the church bears the name “God's power plant” among the population.
