Kiter (computer game)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In computer games, mainly in MMORPGs, a kiter is a player who pulls one or more opponents behind him in order to eliminate them by attacks while moving. This serves the purpose of being out of the reach of the opponent so that you cannot be attacked yourself. The term is derived from the English term for kite flying (to kite). The opponent represents, so to speak, the kite, which is pulled behind the player on an invisible line.

For this purpose, one or more opponents are made aggressive so that they follow the player (the player should be faster than his pursuers, which can be achieved, for example, via slowing effects). The player in front now causes damage to the opponent who is following him. For this purpose, like damage-over-time crafts used. After a while, the opponent should be brought down by this method without being able to attack the player himself.

Most of the time you move sideways or backwards while kiting to keep your opponents in view.
