St. Sebastian Church in Kittensee (undated photo)

Kittensee was a Bavarian church village that belonged to the dissolved municipality of Griffenwang in the Parsberg district .

The Kittensee desert is located on the grounds of the Hohenfels military training area , which was built between 1938 and 1940 and expanded after the end of the Second World War. The residents of Kittensee were resettled and the Griffenwang community became extinct. The uninhabited places now serve as so-called “practice villages”.

The village was home to the late Gothic church “St. Sebastian ”, which was built in 1420. When the “St. Sebastian “was torn down, is not known.
