The Kizami-zuki ( Japanese 刻 み 突 き , [ kɪzamɪˌzɯkɪ ]) is a punch that is mainly used in karate .

This so-called "bounce" is a form of chokuzuki (straight punch forward), mostly in the position of zenkutsu dachi . Similar to the oizuki , the technique is performed with the arm that is on the same side as the front foot. So if you stand with your left foot in front, you hit with your left fist. However, the Kizami-zuki differs from the Oizuki in that it is performed without a step forward.

The Kizami-zuki is one of the fastest fist techniques in karate, as the movement takes the shortest path to hit the opponent (front fist on Jōdan , i.e. head or neck). Since the hips, which are consciously used for most movements in karate, hardly play a role here, the technique lacks strength compared to the Gyakuzuki , for example . However, the Kizamizuki makes up for this with the speed just described, especially since less force is required to achieve an effect when hitting sensitive regions such as the nose. The Kizami-zuki is one of the most common techniques used in competition.

The Kizami-zuki is represented in all karate styles and is also tested there.
