Classification of therapeutic services

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The classification of therapeutic services (KTL) describes a standard according to which therapeutic measures performed in connection with medical rehabilitation are coded in Germany .

The standard was introduced in 1997 by the carriers of the German pension insurance (at that time LVA, BfA, Bundesknappschaft and Seekasse) and serves them as a means of quality assurance, evaluation and content analysis of rehabilitation measures. The current (sixth) edition was published in 2014

The KTL code consists of a letter and a number. The letter stands for a group in which several similar therapeutic services are combined (e.g. B = physiotherapy). The performance is then clearly characterized by the following number (e.g. B043 = individual exercise pool: spinal gymnastics). In addition, the duration per application is specified as a letter code (e.g. L = 60 minutes) and the number of applications performed. Thus "B043 L 20" stands for 20 one-hour applications of spinal exercises in the exercise pool.
