Klaus Jungnickel

Klaus Jungnickel is a former German basketball player . The inside player became German champion three times in his playing career and once as a coach with MTV Gießen . He was also a German national player.

Player career

Jungnickel was nicknamed "The Golden Hand" and "Dschang" during his playing days. With MTV Gießen he won the German championship title in 1965, 1967 and 1968. He played 161 games for MTV and came up with a total of 3296 points. In 1965 he took part in the European Championship in the Soviet Union with the German national  team and scored an average of 3.3 points in six missions during the tournament.

In 1975, Jungnickel led the Giesseners in his first year in office as a coach to win the German championship and held the post until 1977.
