from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klaus von Urbach , also Claus , was an alchemist in the Middle Ages .

Klaus von Urbach was brought to Felsberg in 1455 by the Hessian Landgrave Ludwig I (Hesse) , where he worked as an alchemist on the Felsburg from 1455 to 1458 . He tried in vain to make gold and looked just as in vain for the Philosopher's Stone . Klaus von Urbach used minerals, herbs and plants to heal sick people and animals as early as the 15th century .

His work was widely recognized in his lifetime, but was also described as adventurous.
