The protected small monument Langer Stein on Lake Constance in the municipality of Lochau ( Vorarlberg , Austria ) in its current form was rebuilt in 1899. A somewhat wider sandstone pyramid already existed here in 1849.

function

This small monument is a commemorative stele and signpost, although the function as a signpost is no longer given (2020). The signs previously attached here (e.g. via Lochau to Kempten ) are missing. An inscription about the origin of the long stone is missing on the small monument.

location

The obelisk stands in the acute angle of the junction of the Landstrasse (Landesstrasse L1) into Lindauer and Bregenzer Strasse (Bundesstrasse 190) and can be clearly seen from the street as well as from Lake Constance.

execution

The small monument has a triangular base with a side length of around 195 cm. A triangular stone obelisk about five meters high is placed on top of it, with a side length of 125 cm at the base.
