The Vorarlberger Landes-Zeitung was the official gazette of Vorarlberg and with an additional non-official part also an Austrian daily newspaper , which appeared in Bregenz between 1863 and 1938 . In terms of orientation, it was initially a liberal, from 1870 a conservative, then a Christian-social and finally a patriotic paper. Its predecessor was the Bregenz weekly newspaper .

In 1863 the publisher and owner of the Bregenzer Wochenblatt , Anton Flatz, was granted a license by the government to publish an official journal. The Bregenzer Wochenblatt ceased its publication on August 4th and the Vorarlberger Landes-Zeitung came out for the first time on August 11th . In its non-official part, it represented the political opinion of the state government that was just in place. From 1934 onwards she became the mouthpiece of the Fatherland Front and especially of Ernst Rüdiger Starhemberg's Home Guard . The adjustment of the orientation to the opinion of the ruling parties was due to her contract with the state government, which gave her a semi-official character and provided for an annual subsidy from the government. Since its inception, the newspaper was divided into a main sheet with the official and the non-official part and an advertisement sheet with official and private advertisements. Many of the articles were taken from other newspapers, especially from Viennese and Tyrolean newspapers, but also from foreign papers. From January 1, 1937, the official parts ceased to exist, from this date the Vorarlberg state government published its own official gazette.
