Distortion attenuation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The harmonic distortion or harmonic distortion is quantitatively represented by the logarithm , in decibels or Neper defined size Klirrdämpfungsmaß (DIN 40148-3 "transmission systems and four-poles") as a measure of distortion of sounds or signals through non-linear devices .

The degree of distortion attenuation is a number derived from the distortion factor :

Examples

Since is always , the specified definition gives the degree of distortion attenuation . This definition is analogous to the definition in DIN 40148-1 "Transmission systems and two-port":

  • If : You use the damping factor . This is the amount of damping .
  • If : One uses the transmission or gain factor . This is the transfer rate .
