Klong Tum

The Klong Tum (in Thai กลอง ตุ้ม ) is a drum that can be played on both sides and is used in the southern part of the northeast region of Thailand ( Isan ).

The sound body consists of a hardwood shell and is around 40 centimeters long and around 30 centimeters in diameter. The drum surface is covered with cowhide . She is hung from a post and beaten with mallets .

The Klong Tum is used in an ensemble together with Phin , Khaen etc. for Mor Lam , folk dance during festive processions and as a signal at temple ceremonies and funerals.
