Keur Moussa Monastery

The Keur Moussa Monastery is an abbey between Dakar and Thiès in Senegal . The monastery, inhabited by Benedictine monks, is known for its Sunday masses, in which the monks cultivate the art of Gregorian chant and complement it with local melodies and instruments. There is singing, dancing and drumming, and the whole mass is celebrated lively.

Keur Moussa is around 20 kilometers from Dakar and is easy to reach, for example if you are staying at Lac Rose or on the way to the fishing village of Kayar .
