history
The architect Heinrich Hebgen from Ludwigshafen planned the construction. The monastery was built between 1951 and 1959. It was the Provincial Mother House of the Province of Palatinate , which was merged in 2005 into the Province of Germany and Austria . The church was consecrated on March 7, 1959. After around 70 years, the monastery was put up for sale in 2019 for around one million euros. The sale to Slow Life GmbH Esthal took place in November 2019 . The company, which is held by two Polish investors, intends to continue operating the hotel and catering business for the time being.
Furnishing
An art-historically significant cross in the choir of the church was acquired from a Swiss private collection in 1984. Most of the rest of the furnishings were recreated in 1986 by Josef Henger .
