Toggle with socket wrenches (nuts) .

A rod-shaped handle which is used to rotate a device is generally referred to as a toggle . The pivot point is located at a point within the toggle piece of material.

A toggle serves different purposes, for example to tension ropes or saw blades or to turn screws or nuts . As such, it is often part of a nut case (see wrench , socket wrench ), it usually consists of a hexagonal or square socket for exchangeable tools and a steel rod that can be moved in this. Due to the displaceability, on the one hand, the lever force used can be regulated;

A “toggle handle” is often used on electrical switches , typically on car heating selector switches or on older apartment light switches.
