A kink protection is a device that is intended to protect a flexible component or a connection from excessive stress, in particular from kinking or tearing off.
A kink protection is often used in materials engineering for cable or hose connections. A protective covering of the supply line reinforced with fabric prevents the connection from being crushed, severely buckled or broken. As a rule, the covering is elastic enough that it can still accommodate compressions and bends in the connection to a certain extent.
