Ko Kham ( Thai : เกาะ ขาม , other spelling: Koh Kham , also Khokam ) is a small island in the province of Trat in eastern Thailand . The island of Ko Kham, which is about 1.2 kilometers in circumference, is quite small and is located in the eastern Gulf of Thailand , northwest of Ko Mak .

When the tide is very low, it is possible to walk to the island of Ko Mak. Motorboats operate from Ko Mak, the approximate timetable of which is agreed directly with the boat driver.

The sea around Ko Kham is turquoise, warm and very clean. It therefore offers ideal conditions for snorkelers and those who love to swim. The coastal zone is sometimes interspersed with small stones and shells. Occasionally massive, black lava cones stand in the way, evidence of volcanic origin. In the vicinity of the small, immaculate sandbank, there are very good bathing opportunities in the shallow sea.

The interior of the island is dominated by an inaccessible, lush elevation. The vegetation in the beach area consists mainly of coconut palms , while mangroves grow on the west coast .

climate

It is tropical warm (30–35 ° C). The rainy season lasts from April to October, when it is occasionally a bit cooler and the humidity is higher.
