Koberer

A Koberer (from Rotwelsch Kober for 'landlord'; from this also kobern 'turn on, recruit, pick up customers ') is a doorman or porter who asks customers from the street to visit an entertainment venue ( nightclub , sex club, strip club). The chosen form of addressing customers is often hearty to obscene and often aggressive. So Koberer also get in the way of passers-by and describe the entertainment to be expected in not youth-free clarity.

The expression itself probably comes from Yiddish ( kowo, kübbo , bedroom, brothel, hut, tent ').
