Piston crown

In the case of pistons used in reciprocating engines , the piston crown is the raised rim on the piston crown that is sometimes used. The function of the piston crown is to provide a swirl chamber for better mixing of the air-fuel mixture. In some cases, the piston crown also provides the grooves for receiving the piston rings .
