As a combination of anesthesia or combined anesthesia the simultaneous performance of is general (narcosis) and regional anesthesia procedures referred to. This saves anesthetics in the respective procedures , which can reduce side effects . Pain catheters placed using regional anesthesia allow effective pain therapy to be carried out for days after the anesthesia has ended .
