Local Political Forum Saxony

The Municipal Political Forum of Saxony is a German non-profit association closely related to the Die Linke party and headquartered in Dresden . The association is responsible for political education work with a focus on local politics . He sees himself as belonging to the basic intellectual current of democratic socialism .

history

The association was founded on November 30, 1991. In 1995 the PDS recognized the association as a party-affiliated educational institution. The KFS has been receiving funding from the Free State of Saxony since 1996 . The association has had its headquarters on Großenhainer Strasse in Dresden since 2006.

The Municipal Political Forum Saxony sees itself connected to democratic socialism . The aim of the association's activities is to motivate and enable municipal elected officials, knowledgeable residents and interested citizens to participate in municipal self-government .

For this purpose, the association organizes educational events in various formats. The events take place across Saxony and are partly carried out in cooperation with the respective municipal administrations.

The KFS is registered as an independent publisher and is the publisher of the Edition KFS series , the specialist periodical Kommunal-Info and the biannual magazine Das Kommunalforum .

Legal form and financing

The KFS has the legal form of a registered association . The association is financed from membership fees, donations and funding from the Free State of Saxony.

The highest organ of the association is the general assembly. It elects the board of the association every two years. The board currently has six members, with Sabine Brünler as the chairperson (as of August 2020) .

The association has an office in Dresden and has four employees. The managing director is Patrick Pritscha (as of August 2020) .
