Compact asphalt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In compact asphalt is two asphalt layers , which immediately after the other ( "hot on hot") by means of a compact asphalt paver under high pre-compression be built in. The final compaction with vibratory rollers then takes place in one operation. In practice (with the exception of test stretches), this method is still used relatively rarely and is used to pave the binder and surface course without interruption in time. The stable connection between binder and surface course increases the longevity of the road.

The concept offered by the Vögele company is called InLine Pave, as two individual pavers are used and the paver moves on the pre-compacted binder course. The term compact asphalt is reserved for the Dynapack concept. Both versions of compact asphalt and InLine Pave are included in the German ZTV Asphalt-StB 07 regulations for compact asphalt pavements and are officially approved.
