Conche (measure)
A conche ( Greek κογχε , "shell") is an ancient measure of capacity .
The conches were mainly used as a measure for ointments and medicine. A “large conche” corresponded to an oxybaphone (approx. 0.051 liters), a “small conche” was given as half a kyathos (≈ 0.017 liters).
