The Ehrenberg residential area in Wuppertal is one of nine quarters in the Langerfeld-Beyenburg district in the Wupper valley . The residential area is named after the dominant Ehrenberg elevation .
geography
The 5.00 km² residential area is in the southwest and west of the federal highway 1 , in the north by the streets Buschenburg , Am Hedtberg , Am Timpen , Beyeröhde , Ehrenberger Strasse , federal highway 1, and Schwelmer Strasse , in the east by the city limits to Schwelm over the wooded Steinhauser Berg and bordered in the south by the Wupper . Clockwise, the residential quarters Langerfeld-Mitte , Fleute , the city of Schwelm and the residential quarters Beyenburg , Herbringhausen , Hammesberg and Rauental surround the residential quarter Ehrenberg.
Except for a few isolated settlements and farms, the residential area is largely covered with forest and only densely populated in the north on the edge of the center of the Langerfeld district . The federal highway 1 cuts through the northwestern part of the residential area.
Two elevations, the Ehrenberg and the Steinhauser Berg, determine the topography of the residential area. The Ehrenberg settlement with the same name is located on the agriculturally used plateau of the Ehrenberg, with two locations . In the valley of the Wupper lies the district of Kemna , where the Kemna concentration camp was located. The location of Wilde Öhde in the district of Öhde is also part of the residential quarter, as is the part of the Vorwerk factory near Laaken north of the Wupper . There are also the individual farms, settlements and localities Beyeröhde , Buschenburg , Busch , Hölkesöhde , Kattendieck , Kucksiepen , Pülsöhde , Röttgen , Schee , Steinhauserberg and Wulfeshohl .
