The Wuppertal residential district Schenkstrasse , the city administration uses the spelling "Schenkstr", is one of six quarters in the Ronsdorf district .
geography
The 0.9 km² residential area is enclosed by Lüttringhauser Strasse , Remscheider Strasse ( Landesstrasse 417 ) and the city limits to Remscheid . As the southern part of Ronsdorf's inner city, the entire residential area is heavily populated and houses little trade and industry. Two cemeteries and a diaconal center as well as a primary school are located in the residential area. It is named after the centrally located inner-city Schenkstrasse.
The locations Blaffertsberg , Böckel , Boxberg , Hütte and Kottsiepen belong to the residential quarter . The listed Schenkstrasse estate is also located here .
The street "Schenkstraße"
The Schenkstraße joins the street Am Stadtbahnhof , which is part of the L 417, in a south-westerly direction. After around 817 meters, the route ends on Kottsiepen Street . The street was named in 1935 after Josef Schenk , who was Ronsdorf's mayor from 1830 to 1841/42. Before 1935, the street was called Luisenstrasse from April 30, 1900 , like the streets of the same name in Elberfeld (see Luisenstrasse ), Heckinghausen , Vohwinkel and Cronenberg .
