The Cronenberg-Mitte residential area in Wuppertal is one of seven quarters in the Cronenberg district . The residential area is the historical center of the former independent town of Cronenberg .

geography

The 5.91 km² residential area is located in the south of Wuppertal. In the northeast the area borders on the Cronenberg residential area of Cronenfeld . In the east (in the valley of the Morsbach ) Cronenberg-Mitte borders on the neighboring town of Remscheid . In the south lies the Berghausen district , in the south-east it is bounded by the streets Nettenberg and Rheinbach , in the south by the route of the Bergische Museumsbahnen . In the southwest, Cronenberg-Mitte borders the residential district of Kohlfurth . The western border is formed by the valley of the Wupper , which is also the city boundary to the neighboring city of Solingen .

The highest peaks include the Neuenberg (230 m), the Kürken (233 m) and the Jacobsberg (200 m). The wooded slopes in the west and north belong to the Burgholz state forest . Here lies the valley of the Burgholzbach and its numerous tributaries.

The national road 427 (L 427) crosses the residential district of Elberfeld over the Hahnerberg Coming as Main Street and then runs as Solinger road through the district Kohlfurth continue to Solingen.

In addition to the main town, the residential area includes the localities and suburbs of Breitenbruch , Bruscheid , Buscherhof , Greuel , Herichhausen , Kuchhausen , Lenzhaus , Möschenborn , Rauenhaus , Rheinbach , Schwabhausen , Unterkirchen and Wahlert .
