The 4.45 km² residential area borders in the northeast on the course of the Bendahler Bach on the residential area Hesselnberg , which belongs to the district of Barmen . In the east, the area on the Bendahler and Böhler Bach rivers borders on the Barmer district Lichtenplatz and in the southeast on the Ronsdorf district of Ronsdorf-Mitte / Nord , where the Gelpe brook forms the district boundary . In the south of Grifflenberg the Cronenberg residential area borders Hahnerberg and in the southwest on Küllenhahn , here the Jung-Stilling-Weg forms the border. In the west, Grifflenberg borders on the Elberfeld residential area of Friedrichsberg , with part of Cronenberger Straße representing the border here. To the north, separated by Südstrasse , follows the Südstadt residential area .
