The Wuppertal residential quarter Vohwinkel-Mitte is one of nine quarters in the Vohwinkel district . It is the historical center of the former independent town Vohwinkel.
geography
The 1.48 km² large, fully built-up residential area is bordered in the north by the Düsseldorf – Elberfeld railway line , in the east by the streets Eichendorffstraße, Mondstraße and Buchenhofer Straße and in the south by the streets Schlieffenstraße, Goerdelerstraße, Westring and Haaner Straße.
It is surrounded clockwise by the residential quarters Osterholz , Tesche , Industriestraße , Sonnborn , Zoo , Buchenhofen , Schrödersbusch and Westring .
For the culturally and historically significant buildings include not only the land route of the Wuppertal suspension railway and the western turning station, the town hall Vohwinkel , the station Vohwinkel , the Evangelical Church Vohwinkel with the opposite town hall Gräfrather road and Gebhard building .
Three schools, including one elementary school, offer a wide range of educational opportunities.
Line 683 , one of Solingen's trolleybus routes, ends in the quarter .
The Vohwinkel Flea Market , the largest one-day flea market in the world, takes place every year in Vohwinkel-Mitte .
