Bruscheid is a village in the mountainous city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

Bruscheid is located in the south of the residential area Cronenberg-Mitte in the district of Cronenberg at an altitude of 142  m above sea level. NHN in the Morsbachtal on the city limits to Remscheid formed by the river . Neighboring towns are Rheinbach , Breitenbruch and Aue (near Remscheid). In addition to a grinding shop, there are several residential buildings in the village.

State road 216, which here bears the name Morsbachtalstraße , runs in the valley .

In addition to other hiking trails , there is a connecting path between the Wuppertal Friends of Nature Houses , the Morsbach adventure trail set up as part of the Regionale 2006 and the Wuppertal circular trail through the village.

history

The place goes back to the settlement of water-powered hammer mills , the first of which was first mentioned in 1623. In the course of time, the hammers turned into three grinding balls . The last of these grinding heads, which has been operated with Francis turbines and a steam engine since the beginning of the 20th century and with electric motors since 1963 , is still sanded today. It has a shed roof as an external sign of a manufacturing facility .

The Ronsdorf-Müngstener Railway ran through the Morsbachtal parallel to the Morsbachtalstraße and was primarily used to transport raw materials and finished goods from the companies.
