Aue ( ) is a location in the west of the Bergisch city of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia .
Location and geography
The location is in the Morsbachtal in a loop of the Morsbach , which forms the border with Wuppertal ( Cronenberg district, Sudberg residential district ), opposite the confluence of the Rottsieper Bach and the Rheinbach . Aue is located at an altitude of about 138 meters above sea level between the villages of Gerstau and Morsbach . The location belongs to the district of Alt-Remscheid . Neighboring places are Rheinbach and Bruscheid .
The Ronsdorf-Müngstener Railway ran through the Morsbachtal parallel to the Morsbachtalstraße (Landesstraße 216) and was primarily used to transport raw materials and finished goods from the companies. The section from Clarenbach via Aue to Müngsten was opened on November 16, 1891. On November 26, 1954, the section from Morsbach to Gründerhammer was closed . In Aue there was a train station, the goods building of which is still preserved today. Today, only a collective taxi operates in public transport .
Due to the hydropower of the streams, metal-producing and processing companies such as water hammers , forges and grinding docks settled in the Aue and the surrounding area, as in the entire Morsbachtal . Today there are craft and small industrial companies here.
In addition to other hiking trails , the Röntgenweg , the Bergische Weg ( SGV main hiking route X29), the Morsbach adventure trail set up as part of the Regionale 2006 and the Wuppertaler Rundweg lead through the village or directly past Aue.
